I'm happy to be working with your child this year!
My name is Julie Barthels, and I am a first grade teacher here at Norway Elementary School. I have been a part of NVAS for 29 years now. I am a graduate of Kingsford High School and received my bachelor's degree from NMU.
When I am not in school, I enjoy traveling, reading, shopping, and spending time with my family and friends.
My favorite sports teams are all things Detroit -- the Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings. I will also cheer for anyone playing the Green Bay Packers!! I also enjoy watching my former students play for the Norway Knights' sports teams.
My favorite thing about being in first grade is teaching my students not only how to read, but helping them to develop a life-long love of reading. I look forward to sharing my love of reading with many more children!
